The US State Department has called on the Georgian president to provide information on the alleged violations.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Salome Zurabishvili must provide evidence of her accusations.

Days earlier, the Georgian president accused the Central Election Commission of falsifications in the parliamentary elections on October 26, 2024, TASS writes.

The situation was complicated by the fact that the United States suspended $95 million in aid to Georgia due to the Foreign Agents Act.

Miller noted that Washington is consulting with the European Union about possible investigations.

Zurabishvili refused to appear for questioning at the Prosecutor General's Office, stating that the investigative bodies should seek evidence themselves.

She also claims that there was vote buying and fraud in the elections.
