The United States has disclosed statistics on nuclear weapons.
The data was provided by the US National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
In September 2023, Washington had 3,748 nuclear warheads, according to the US Department of Energy website .
Over 29 years, the country has dismantled 12,088 nuclear warheads. About 2,000 have been decommissioned and are awaiting dismantling.
Since the end of the Cold War, the United States has reduced the volume of tactical nuclear weapons by more than 90%.
The last time Washington released information about nuclear weapons was in October 2021. Since then, the number of nuclear warheads has decreased by two units.

In March 2024, the US military had 1,419 deployed nuclear warheads, according to the State Department.
There were also reports of 662 deployed carriers of such warheads (ICBMs, bombers, submarine-launched missiles).
