Ohio Senator James Vance has been added to Russia's sanctions list.
He is included in the list of persons whose entry into the Russian Federation is prohibited, according to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry .
James Vance is number 76 on the Russian Foreign Ministry's stop list.
Russia has imposed personal sanctions in response to the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the United States.
The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Vance, like others, was included on the “stop list” on a permanent basis.
The Ohio senator was selected by Donald Trump on July 15 as his running mate.
Trump called Vance on Monday with the proposal, 20 minutes before he made the announcement on his personal blog.
Trump supporters believe Vance could appeal to voters in key battleground states in November.
