The US is holding a presidential election, with Donald Trump and Kamala Harris standing as candidates for the White House.
According to the latest information, two key American states voted for Trump.
The Associated Press shared operational information from the voting site.
We are talking about Georgia and North Carolina, where more than 90% of the ballots have already been counted.
In the first state mentioned, Trump won 50.9% of the vote to Harris's 48.4% (94% of ballots were counted).
In North Carolina, Trump got 51% while Harris got only 47.8% (98% of the ballots were counted). Mathematically, Harris will no longer be able to overtake Trump.
It is noted that both states provide 16 electoral votes.
Trump is also leading in other US states:
- Pennsylvania;
- Michigan;
- Arizona;
- Wisconsin;
- Nevada.
The victory of one of the candidates will be awarded by the so-called swing states. This is the name given to regions of the USA where no one votes for any party.
Trump currently has 247 electors, while Harris has 214.
