The newly elected US President has revised his position on NATO.
Donald Trump announced that the United States will remain in the alliance, but on one important condition.
The politician spoke about this in an interview with NBC News .
Trump made it clear that Washington does not intend to support the organization alone.
For the new president, the situation with contributions plays a key role.
"If they [the rest of NATO] pay the bills, absolutely," the politician said in response to a question about whether the US would remain in the alliance.
Previously, Trump stated that if he came to power, he could question the United States' continued participation in NATO.
The politician had previously threatened to initiate Washington's withdrawal from the military-political organization.
Trump will officially re-assume office as US President in a month and a half. The inauguration ceremony will take place on January 20, 2025.
