The President of Belarus spoke about what is currently happening in Syria.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, a struggle between the main world players is underway in the Middle Eastern state.

The head of state's words are quoted by the national Belarusian agency BELTA .

There is such a mess there that this is only the beginning, the Belarusian president confidently stated.

Lukashenko stressed that his country should learn a lesson from what is happening. In his opinion, a power struggle will soon begin in Syria, and Belarus must determine its own destiny.

Events in Syria

Let us recall that on December 8, a turning point occurred in the confrontation between the armed opposition, dissatisfied with the policies of the country's president, Bashar al-Assad.

The rebels entered Damascus and announced on air on the state television channel they had captured that they had established control over the country.

Assad decided to leave his post, transferring power peacefully. According to Russian media sources, he was given asylum in Moscow.
