The head of the Tambov region, Maxim Egorov, announced his resignation after three years in office.
He explained that he was resigning to continue solving new problems at the federal level.
Egorov stated this on his Telegram channel during an address to residents of the Tambov region.
He wrote: “I am glad that the Tambov wolf is now a comrade.”
Egorov expressed words of gratitude to the residents of the region. He said that over the years of his work the region has become close to him.
I am a true Tambov resident and have become close to the Tambov region,” he added.
Elections for the head of the Tambov region are planned for 2025.
The regional election commission confirmed that the new governor will be elected on the next single voting day in September next year.
