The Russian Foreign Ministry has outlined the conditions for resuming dialogue with Japan.
Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko commented on relations between Moscow and Tokyo.
The diplomat spoke on this topic during a meeting with a delegation of the leadership of the Japanese Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Moscow, TASS reports.
The Japanese government under Fumio Kishida made a short-sighted choice in favor of the G7 and confrontation in the context of the situation in Eastern Europe.
Rudenko pointed out that this is what led to the “unprecedented deterioration” of Russian-Japanese relations.
But Moscow remains ready to resume political dialogue with Tokyo.
This will happen if Japan reconsider its hostile course towards Russia, the Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier, Maria Zakharova commented on rumors about the return of Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov from the United States.
