Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski shared his opinion on this issue on Radio Rebeliant .
He noted that the opening of the base in Redzikowo near Slupsk is scheduled for the coming weeks.
Sikorski emphasized that as a result of the exchange of opinions with the United States, Warsaw achieved the ability to shoot down Russian missiles flying towards Poland.
He explained that the base was originally intended only to protect against Iranian missiles threatening the United States.
According to him, Washington adjusted plans for the base during the construction process.
Sikorski said the missile defense base in Redzikowo is located 165 kilometers from the border with Russia.
Thus, with the help of the systems, the US and Poland plan to strengthen the security of Europe.
