Dmitry Peskov commented on the likelihood of Russia attacking Western countries.

Vladimir Putin's press secretary answered this question in a conversation with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, who published a fragment of the interview on his Telegram channel.

The Kremlin representative noted that the topic of a “preventive strike” against Western countries is currently being actively discussed in Russia.

Peskov pointed out that there are even proposals to use nuclear weapons to intimidate potential enemies of the Russian Federation.

But he stressed that such discussions are not yet being conducted at the official level.

He explained that Vladimir Putin approaches such issues with extreme caution.

Therefore, for now, all such conversations are conducted at the level of experts like political scientist Sergei Karaganov.

Peskov added that the Russian Armed Forces have sufficient capabilities to continue the line that was chosen earlier.

There are sufficient economic resources to support the Armed Forces, the Kremlin representative concluded.
