The BRICS summit, attended by representatives from 36 countries, has come to an end in Kazan.
Following the event, a declaration was adopted, the text of which will subsequently be sent to the UN.
The TASS agency reports on the results of the international meeting.
According to the document, the members of the association discussed a host of issues related to assessing the general state of affairs in the world.
An assessment was also given of Russia’s activities as the BRICS chair and further development prospects for the association were discussed.
It is noted that during the summit, the participating states came to the following conclusions:
- the need to prevent an arms race that extends into space;
- condemnation of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza;
- condemnation of the negative impact of unilateral sanctions on the global economy;
- strengthening cooperation in the field of international counter-terrorism, etc.
All these points are presented in a 43-page declaration, which will be submitted to the UN as an official document.
