Maria Zakharova explained why Irada Zeynalova traded television for diplomatic work.

The comment from the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry appeared on her Telegram channel.

Zakharova reported that Zeynalova has two higher educations. She is an international journalist and holds a red diploma from the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

She emphasized that Zeynalova hosted the analytical television program, being a certified international journalist, and not just a television presenter.

Therefore, the question of how the TV presenter became an ambassador in this case does not sound entirely correct.

Zakharova added that among current Russian diplomats there are many people who are connected with journalism.

On September 13, it became known that Vladimir Putin appointed Irada Zeynalova as the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Mauritius.

After this news, Zakharova began to receive a lot of questions about why the TV presenter received a position related to diplomacy.
