The Foreign Ministry denied information about the closure of borders with Estonia

The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on information that appeared online that Russia plans to close the Russian-Estonian border.

The department called this news untrue.

This comment was given by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova; her words are quoted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry .

The publication notes that Estonia is currently actively disseminating fake information.

In particular, there are reports that Russia’s plans include closing its borders with Estonia.

The media also reported that Russian border guards are allegedly subjecting people with EU passports to increased searches.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that there are no plans to close the borders with Estonia and all border crossings continue to operate as normal.

According to the department, on normal days 10-15 people are allowed to cross the border, but on the eve of the holiday the number of people increased to 150 daily.
