The leader of the Slovak opposition criticized Robert Fico for participating in a Russian television program.
The former head of the country's government, Igor Matovic, also spoke harshly about the Prime Minister.
Fico took part in the program “60 Minutes”, which is broadcast on the channel “Russia 1”.
The leader of the Progressive Slovakia party, Michal Šimečka, commented on this to the Reuters agency.
He called Fico's appearance on Russian television "a disgrace."
Šimečka stressed that the Slovak government is falling apart and there are a number of issues that need to be addressed now.
But Fico decided to waste his time on Olga Skabeeva's program. Šimečka considers this "a huge shame."
Former Slovak Prime Minister Matovic responded to Fico's appearance on a Russian TV show with the words: "What a terrible, treacherous ferret."
Fico has been criticized for his pro-Russian views and desire for dialogue with Moscow. In May 2024, the politician survived an assassination attempt.
