Maria Zakharova responded to the American senator who threatened an invasion if the Israeli Prime Minister was arrested.

The comment from the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry appeared on her Telegram channel.

Senator Tom Cotton has previously spoken out harshly against the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.

He called the organisation's work a "parody of justice" and its prosecutor, Karim Khan, a "crazy fanatic".

Cotton threatened to invade the Netherlands if the ICC arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant was executed.

Zakharova saw real chaos in what was happening and decided to make fun of what was happening in Europe and the USA.

The Foreign Ministry representative stated that, firstly, she expects the expulsion of US diplomats from The Hague.

Then she looks to the UK Prime Minister to speak. She expects Keir Starmer to say there is a “highly likely” threat to the life of British citizen Karim Khan.

And to top off the whole picture of the current chaos, Zakharova is waiting for Joe Biden to come out with a speech about the US supporting the Netherlands as a NATO ally.

The day before, it became known that the ICC had issued arrest warrants for two high-ranking Israeli officials. Now their foreign visit may end in arrest due to the situation in the Gaza Strip.

For reference

"Highly Likely" is an Internet meme and phraseological unit that has become widespread on the Russian-language Internet since 2018 following a statement by British Prime Minister Theresa May regarding the Skripal case.
