The engineering division of the state corporation Rosatom has released information that Russia and Hungary will work on the construction of power units for the Paks-2 NPP.
It is emphasized that the relevant work is planned for the end of 2024.
The corresponding statement reads: “The Russian and Hungarian sides noted the high prospects for implementing the Paks-2 NPP project,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
It is indicated that this result was achieved as a result of “effective contacts between Russia and the Hungarian customer.”
Start of construction works
Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev and Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto held a meeting.
The conversation between the two parties took place in Turkey. During the personal contact, Szijjarto and Likhachev discussed the prospects for the construction of the Paks-2 facility.
The meeting resulted in the intention to build the nuclear units of the future station by the end of 2024.
It is emphasized that Russian nuclear power plant projects of the III+ generation will be used during construction.
