On November 4, information emerged that searches had been conducted at the home of the resigning governor of the Rostov region.
But this information turned out to be fake. This was reported by the press service of the head of the region.
The situation was commented on by Vasily Golubev's press secretary Irina Chetvertakova, RIA Novosti reports.
She said the governor was carrying out his work duties on Monday. First, he held an event dedicated to National Unity Day and then participated in a meeting.
He has a number of meetings and conferences scheduled for November 5.
Before rumors of searches emerged, the official said he had decided to leave his post as governor.
Golubev said that he intends to move to a new position, and therefore is leaving his current post.
Soon after, information emerged that the governor's home was allegedly being searched.
Allegedly, special services officers arrived from Moscow for this purpose.
But in her commentary, Golubev’s press secretary denied this information, indicating that Golubev continues to carry out his duties as governor.
He will leave his post after he is officially appointed acting governor of the Rostov region.
