The Constitutional Court of Romania has made a decision on the presidential elections.
The country's highest judicial body has annulled the results of the first round.
This was reported on Friday, December 6, by the Digi 24 TV channel, citing official sources.
Initially, the Constitutional Court approved the results of the first round, during which Calin Georgescu received the highest number of votes.
But then the country's current president, Klaus Iohannis, declassified reports from the intelligence services and the Interior Ministry about violations during the election campaign.
The facts that came to light and public pressure forced the Constitutional Court to reconsider its decision.
Today it became known that the results of the first round were annulled.
And this is despite the fact that foreign polling stations have already begun to choose a new leader in the second round.
All electoral procedures in the country will be carried out anew, the TV channel sums up.
