Vladimir Putin discussed one of the most pressing issues with the Prime Minister of Hungary.

The Russian President had a “detailed” conversation with Viktor Orban regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

Politicians discussed the international agenda during a meeting in Moscow, TASS reports.

The Ukrainian crisis was touched upon separately, Putin said.

“Prime Minister Orban and I discussed possible ways to resolve it,” the president told reporters.

The Hungarian politician made one conclusion after visiting Kyiv before his trip to Russia. He pointed out that the parties to the conflict have completely different views on how to resolve the situation.

Orban told Putin about his proposal to Volodymyr Zelensky. The Hungarian prime minister discussed with Kiev the possibility of a ceasefire in order to start negotiations.

The Hungarian prime minister arrived in Moscow on July 5 as part of a peacekeeping mission. His decision to visit Russia has provoked a negative response from the European Union.

Earlier, the EU criticized Orban's visit to Russia.
