The head of state signed a law on organizations undesirable in Russia.
The new document specifies that an organization whose founders are foreign government agencies may also be recognized as undesirable.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the text of the bill.
Previously, this status was assigned only to non-governmental organizations whose activities were recognized as posing a threat to Russia’s security.
The law also provided for the recognition as undesirable of organizations that conducted monetary transactions or provided intermediary services in relation to other organizations that had already been recognized as undesirable.
Thus, the main change affected the founders of organizations. Now, the status of undesirable can be obtained by government organizations established by state bodies of other states.
It is specified that these entities should not be part of the structure of government bodies of foreign states.
