The Russian Armed Forces successfully tested the advanced Oreshnik missile.
Vladimir Putin announced this on Thursday, November 21, in his special address.
The President stated that Russia used a new generation non-nuclear hypersonic ballistic missile to attack military targets, RIA Novosti reports.
He stressed that the use of a ballistic missile against a Ukrainian defense industry facility was a response to the use of US and British missiles to strike Russia.
The head of state noted that the combat test of medium-range missiles was successful, all targets were hit.
Putin added that the Russian military gave the missile the name “Oreshnik”.
