Dmitry Medvedev responded to the scandalous statement of the President of Georgia.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council called Salome Zurabishvili a “puppet”.
The former Russian president's comment appeared on his English-language social media page.
In the confrontation between the head of Georgia and the Georgian Dream party, Medvedev took the side of the latter.
Zurabishvili refused to recognize the results of the parliamentary elections and called on all those who disagree to hold a rally.
Medvedev noted that the “puppet president” decided to go against the constitution by calling for a coup d’état.
The politician believes that Zurabishvili has already discredited herself with her actions and now she should be held accountable.
“The usual practice in such cases is removal from office and arrest,” said the former Russian president.
The ruling Georgian Dream party won the parliamentary elections. It advocates moderate integration with the European Union and maintaining good-neighborly relations with Russia.
The opposition strives for full accession to the EU and NATO and is ready to fulfill all the conditions put forward by Europe and the United States.
