Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova commented to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the reasons for the accelerated reproduction of viruses.
On Monday, September 16, Putin held a meeting with the head of Rospotrebnadzor, where the issue of viruses and their impact on public health was discussed.
Popova reported that viruses have begun to displace bacteria in cases of intestinal infections, RIA Novosti writes.
Therefore, the department changed its vector of action.
She also noted that viruses began to multiply and replicate faster.
According to Popova, this is primarily due to changes in people’s lifestyles in recent decades.
In particular, the number of social contacts and eating out has increased significantly.
Popova emphasized that modern enterprises produce a lot of products at the same time, which affects the spread of viruses.
During the meeting, measures to adapt to new conditions and reduce the risks associated with viruses were discussed.
