According to Polskie Radio, the EU has imposed the first sanctions for Russia’s hybrid activities.

Those included in the list will be banned from entering the European Union and their assets will be frozen.

EU foreign ministers will agree on the first sanctions for Russia's "hybrid activities" on Monday, Polskie Radio reports.

The first group of the blacklist included 16 people.

They are said to be mostly Russians, but there are also citizens of Moldova and Georgia.

The list of names is currently classified in order to prevent sanctions from being avoided prematurely.

Specific individuals on the list will be banned from entering the EU, their assets will be frozen and they will be denied funding from Brussels.

In addition, the list includes three organizations that are suspected of sabotage activities in Europe and beyond.

The legal framework allowing sanctions for hybrid activity in the EU and globally was agreed upon several months ago.

European states have apparently begun filling the list with information for the introduction of further sanctions.
