Party Condemning Sanctions Against Russia Wins Elections in Austria

The right-wing Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) is leading in the parliamentary elections.

The faction is primarily known for its opposition to restrictive measures against Russia.

It is emphasized that the party received 29.1 percent of positive votes, as reported by the ORF information portal.

It is also indicated that this figure is 13 percent higher than the level observed in 2019.

The ORF publication reports that the faction is currently in second position in the electoral process.

Third place goes to the Social Democratic Party of Austria, which received 20.9 positive votes.

The election results are expected to show who will occupy seats in the national council of the state for the next 5 years.
