It has become known how the discussions on the creation of a single BRICS currency ended.

This possibility was considered, but no specific decision was made.

The Chairman of the Reserve Bank of the country, Shaktikanta Das, shared a comment on this topic, Bloomberg reports.

The financier noted that the issue of the possibility of creating a single currency was brought up for discussion by one of the BRICS countries.

Das said the initiative had been discussed, "but no decision had been made on the matter."

The agency notes that the Indian financier made this statement after a warning from Donald Trump.

The future US president said that the response to the BRICS countries' decision to abandon the dollar would be the introduction of 100% tariffs.

"We have not taken any steps towards de-dollarisation," the Reserve Bank of India chief said.

Das stressed that India is committed to reducing the risks associated with international trade.

Dependence on one currency is fraught with problems due to appreciation or depreciation, the financier concluded.
