A Marine Collegium will be created in Russia. Russian Presidential Aide Nikolai Patrushev explained the purpose of the new institution.
The official spoke on this topic on Monday, July 29, during a meeting in Rybinsk.
Patrushev said that the main goal of the Maritime Collegium will be to increase coordination in the sphere of national maritime policy, TASS reports.
The competence of the created institution will also include ensuring the protection of the national interests of the Russian Federation in the World Ocean.
These tasks were set by Vladimir Putin and now their implementation will be carried out by members of the Maritime Collegium.
The institution will include councils of structures associated with the naval sphere.
Today, the position and personnel are at the stage of formation. The President of Russia will approve them by his decrees.
After this, it will be possible to talk about the beginning of the full functioning of the institution.
