Estonia must not remain a weak link in the event of an armed conflict with Russia.
NATO has set a new task for Tallinn in the event of new conflicts in the region.
This was announced by the Chief of the General Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces, Major General Vahur Karus, TASS reports.
He explained that Estonia must be prepared for a possible armed conflict with Russia.
According to him, Estonia's long-range strike capabilities are now taken into account in NATO plans.
Karus added that Estonia must take care of certain goals.
This is necessary so that NATO forces can take further steps.
Previously, the Estonian army was expected to be able to hold out for about ten days in the event of an armed confrontation.
Now Estonia can count on the immediate participation of allied troops stationed on its territory.
