A group of State Duma deputies from the LDPR proposed banning labor migrants from bringing their families to the Russian Federation.
According to politicians, the corresponding initiative will be sent to the State Duma on August 19.
The explanatory note to the document states: “It is proposed to prohibit entry into the Russian Federation of persons who are relatives of labor migrants,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
In addition, it is explained that the ban will apply to relatives of foreigners employed in low-skilled jobs.
The essence of the initiative
The authors of the bill added: “The families of migrants must wait for them in their home countries.”
In addition, the initiators noted that foreigners coming to the Russian Federation to visit their relatives are forming enclaves.
Such enclaves, according to politicians, subsequently treat local residents with disdain.
In particular, LDPR deputies emphasized that labor migrants and their families may delay utility payments and thereby accumulate large debts.
