Moscow announced the filing of pre-trial claims against the Baltic states.
The Russian authorities intend to seriously address one problem that is observed in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has been recording discrimination against Russians in these countries for several years now, RIA Novosti reports.
The official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, reported that in connection with this, the Russian Federation has made pre-trial claims to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
The diplomat said that Moscow intends to use all available international judicial mechanisms against those who incite hatred towards Russians.
Zakharova noted that the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination of 1965 provides such an opportunity.
The pre-trial claims were made with reference to the points of this document, the diplomat informed.
She stressed that in the Baltics there is a “gross violation of the rights of Russians.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously noted that this issue has become more acute in the Baltic countries since 2022.
Decisions have begun to be made against Russians that contradict all international norms, the department stated.
