Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has addressed his countrymen after a series of explosions and injuries in Lebanon.
He asked not to accept electronic devices as gifts.
He also asked citizens to monitor their phones and other means of communication because of exploding pagers and radios in Lebanon, VTV reported.
Maduro stressed the importance of careful handling of electronic devices.
The President said that he himself prefers to give books and wooden chests.
Inside these handcrafted chests he stores local coffee, sweets and the traditional alcoholic drink kokuy.
Maduro proposed temporarily refraining from gifts of electronics to avoid threats and ensure security.
The Venezuelan president's concerns are caused by the massive explosions of communications equipment on September 17 and 18 in Lebanon.
The massive incident left 37 people dead and more than 4,000 injured.
