French President Emmanuel Macron has announced his willingness to accept the resignation of the government of current French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
It is emphasized that the officially indicated event is scheduled for the evening of July 16.
The foreign press, represented by the BFMTV television channel, indicated: “The resignation of the Attal government will take place this evening.”
As the source indicated, he was referring to unnamed high-ranking officials.
Change of power
In addition, it is indicated that negotiations on the formation of a government have currently been suspended.
The reason is the lack of agreement on a "single candidate" for the post of President of the National Assembly.
BFMTV explains: "Gabriel Attal, for his part, is still in Matignon. He will remain there even if his resignation is accepted by the president."
It is also indicated that the process of removing Attal from office will take place during a meeting of the Council of Ministers at the Elysee Palace.
