Alexander Lukashenko spoke about Russia's plan, which is envisaged in case of an attack on Belarus.
The President of the Republic stated that in such a case Moscow would make a decision to introduce its military personnel into the country.
In the event of an attack, the Belarusian army takes the first blow, while Russia transfers its forces to the republic.
"Russia, according to our agreement, introduces its units into Belarus. We take the first blow, and then Russia backs us up in reserve," BelTA quotes Lukashenko as saying.
Such a plan will be implemented in the event of an attack by NATO countries or Ukraine, the politician emphasized.
He added that to date Minsk has identified more than 20 brigades and battalion groups that will be used, if necessary, to prevent a breakthrough from the enemy side.
Belarusian military leaders have an action plan, each unit knows which area it is responsible for, Lukashenko emphasized.
