The President of Belarus has a plan in case protests break out in the republic again.
At a meeting with students, Alexander Lukashenko said what he will do in the event of new opposition rallies.
The politician stated that protecting the country is a priority for him, BelTA reports.
He recalled the events of the summer of 2020, when protests began in the republic after the elections.
Lukashenko stressed that the opposition's success would open the way for NATO's military contingent. Already in 2020, the North Atlantic Alliance's military would be on the country's territory.
At that time, the president of the republic decided to disconnect the Internet.
At the initial stages of the protests, the Internet was disconnected only with his permission, Lukashenko admitted.
He added that if the protests are repeated, the Internet in the republic will be disconnected again.
The next presidential elections in Belarus are scheduled for January 26, 2025.
