Lithuania continues to strengthen its border with Russia and, at the same time, with Belarus.
The country's authorities have deployed anti-tank hedgehogs, also called "dragon's teeth," near the border with the Russian Federation.
Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas announced this on Tuesday, TASS reports.
Lithuania spent 4 million euros from the budget to purchase these products from domestic producers.
Anti-tank structures will be installed at 27 points along the border.
According to the minister, the first section will open on August 22. The barriers can be delivered to the installation site as quickly as necessary.
In September, Lithuania plans to begin construction of protective structures on the border with the Kaliningrad region and Belarus.
The installation of anti-tank hedgehogs is part of Lithuania's plan to improve border security using defensive means.
