Libya refused to be a “springboard” for the transfer of Russian military equipment from Syria.
The statement on this matter was made by the country's Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.
Earlier, the WSJ newspaper reported, citing officials from the US, Italy and Libya, that Russia could use the African country as a staging area for the transfer of military equipment located in Syria.
Now the Libyan prime minister claims that such a maneuver is unacceptable for the country, Bloomberg reports.
Dbeibah stressed that Libya is not in the mood to accept "foreign force."
If there is an attempt to enter the territory of the state without permission, a military clash will occur, the prime minister said.
He noted that Libya is not ready to be a springboard for Russian military equipment.
But at the same time, the politician stated that his country is open to cooperation with Moscow in the educational sphere.
Russian military and equipment remain in Syria.
The Arab country recently saw a coup that overthrew President Bashar al-Assad.
He and his family evacuated to Moscow shortly after the fall of the Syrian capital.
Russian diplomats previously reported that they were ready for dialogue with the Syrian opposition.
