Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow is leaving the door open for dialogue with the West.
According to the diplomat, Russia is ready to cooperate with Europe on issues of economics, infrastructure and security.
Lavrov explained: “When the West understands that it is weakening its position in order to strengthen the position of the United States, you are welcome, the doors are open,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
Nevertheless, according to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russia will cooperate exclusively on the basis of equality and full respect for each other’s interests.
Moscow's position
The diplomat added: “Euro-Atlantic security, working in conjunction with the United States and embodied in NATO and the OSCE, has already discredited itself.”
As Lavrov explained, all variations of such a linkage boil down to Washington subjugating Western countries.
According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, today there is an urgent need to build a working and functioning system of Eurasian security.
The diplomat emphasized that it is for this reason that Russia is expressing its readiness for dialogue with Europe.
