The Latvian Parliament has adopted a new law that introduces changes to the banking sector.
Now it is not possible to use Russian language in ATMs.
ATMs must be set to the Latvian language, writes the publication Delfi .
It is also possible to use the languages of the European Union and OECD countries.
After the amendments are adopted in Latvia, the Russian language will no longer be available in ATMs.
These changes, it is emphasized, will help make cash accessible to all residents of Latvia.
In addition, the amendments also provide for minimum requirements for bank clients who want to withdraw money from their current account.
Recently, cashless payments have become increasingly used as the main method of payment in Latvia.
However, despite the rapid growth of non-cash payments, cash remains relevant in everyday life.
