The Kyrgyz Parliament has decided to introduce a fine for wearing clothing that covers the face.
According to the new law, clothing that makes it difficult to identify citizens is prohibited in Kyrgyzstan.
The fine will apply to those who wear clothing that hides their faces, the AKIpress news agency reports.
Exceptions will be made in cases related to work activities or medical indications.
The fine, as emphasized, will be 20 thousand soms, or the equivalent of approximately 23 thousand rubles.
In June 2024, parliament also approved amendments banning the work of fortune tellers and psychics.
Kyrgyz legislators explained their decision by the need to protect citizens from manipulation and fraudulent services in the field of occultism and magic.
