Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the nomination of US Vice President Kamala Harris as a candidate for American leadership.
As the Kremlin representative pointed out, the politician was noticed voicing unfriendly rhetoric towards Russia.
Peskov explained: "Some of Harris's statements were belligerent. She did not commit any other controversial actions," as reported by RIA Novosti .
Putin's press secretary voiced this opinion in response to a corresponding question from journalists.
Assessing the situation
The Kremlin spokesman added: “We have not yet recorded any other gestures from Harris with a plus or minus sign.”
On Sunday, US President Joe Biden announced his intention to leave the election race.
At the same time, Biden indicated that Kamala Harris could run for president from the Democratic Party instead of him.
In making the statement, the American leader stressed that he highly values Harris's candidacy.
