The former head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry commented on the possible holding of negotiations between the parties to the conflict in the Middle East.
According to Karin Kneissl, Russia could become an ideal mediator for representatives of Israel and Hamas.
The politician made this statement in response to a question from TASS journalists.
Nobody trusts Washington, Kneissl said confidently.
This is precisely why, according to the former head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Moscow should become the platform for negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas.
She explained her point of view by the close connection that has developed between Russia and Israel.
Many Russians have moved to Israel at one time, so the two countries have close ties not only politically, but also socially.
Kneissl noted that she hopes for a quick resolution to the escalating situation in the Middle East and expressed confidence that the Russian side will be able to influence what is happening and build communication between the opponents.
