The European Union is talking about adopting a new package of anti-Russian sanctions.
According to preliminary data, the 16th package of restrictions could be adopted as early as February 24, 2025.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to German media. It is specified that diplomatic sources located in Brussels reported about the new restrictive measures.
Work on the next, 16th package in a row, began in the European Union shortly after the previous one was approved.
According to preliminary data, this time the restrictions may affect specific sectors of the Russian economy. It is not specified which specific sectors are being discussed, but the restrictions may affect both those sectors that are already under sanctions and completely new ones.
It is also planned to expand the existing list of sanctions and introduce restrictions on those individuals who, according to the European Union, are allegedly involved in Russian intelligence operations.
The restrictions may affect the assets of individuals, including those from Germany, who will also be banned from entering the territory of the European Union.
