Russians who moved to Serbia created a kind of “mini-Russia”.

This Balkan country was among the priority destinations for Russian citizens who wished to leave the country in 2022–2023.

Reuters notes that the Russian presence is most noticeable in Belgrade. Clubs, kindergartens, and medical institutions owned by Russian citizens have appeared in the capital of Serbia.

There are Russian grocery stores, Russian-speaking musicians and comedians perform, and artists hold exhibitions in galleries owned by Russians.

From February 2022 to mid-2023, over 30,000 Russian nationals were registered as temporary residents in Serbia.

The significant contribution of Russian citizens to the local economy was noted. In more than a year, they opened over 11 thousand enterprises.

"Mini-Russia" helps those emigrants who find it difficult to integrate into Serbian society. They feel more comfortable interacting with their compatriots who have also decided to build a life abroad.

Local residents do not share the position of the Russians who moved here. Serbian citizens approve of Moscow's policy, the agency's material says.
