Iran's "retaliatory strike" against Israel for the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh has been postponed.

Information has emerged that Tehran has so far abandoned the idea of striking Israeli military positions.

The New York Times has learned that the Iranian authorities did this because of negotiations with Hamas representatives on a ceasefire in the region.

Israeli intelligence has found that by August 16, Hezbollah and Iranian missile units had reduced their level of readiness.

Officials in Tel Aviv believe that Tehran will postpone its "retaliatory strike" indefinitely.

At the same time, it is emphasized that Iran is not abandoning these plans. Intelligence sources indicate that Tehran is constantly changing its plans.

Analysts believe that the Iranian side will strike at a time when Israel least expects it.

Meanwhile, Iran is conducting an investigation. Authorities are looking for agents involved in Haniyeh's murder.

Following the incident, security officers and employees of the residence where Hania was killed were detained.
