Iran names accomplice in killing of Hamas politburo chief in Tehran

The Iranian Foreign Ministry commented on the situation with the death of the head of the Hamas Politburo.

Ismail Haniyeh was killed in the Iranian capital on Wednesday, July 31.

Official Tehran called the incident a terrorist attack, TASS reports. They added that Israel has an accomplice – the United States.

Iran believes that the American government is complicit in a "heinous terrorist act."

Tehran's diplomatic mission to the UN supplemented the department's comment.

They said that the response to Israel's actions could be special operations: "More severe and aimed at causing deep remorse in the perpetrator."

Iranian authorities stress that the Israeli military grossly violated the principles and norms of international law and the UN Charter when they eliminated Haniyeh in Tehran.

The republic calls the incident a serious threat to international peace and security in the Middle East.
