Bundestag member of parliament Steffen Kotret from the Alternative for Germany party stated that the faction would lift anti-Russian restrictions.
It is indicated that the party would take such a step if it won the government elections in the country.
Kotre explained: “We would stop this aggression against Russia within the framework of Germany’s interests, and not supposedly because of friendship with the Kremlin,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
The politician made this information public as part of Russian Energy Week.

The official also added that the AfD could enter the government by uniting with the Christian Democratic Union faction.
Kotre added: “This outcome could happen if the faction does not begin to undemocratically limit us.”
The politician also emphasized that AfD advocates for the normalization of international relations and communications.
As the official pointed out, the party sees the satisfaction of Germany's interests in terms of contacts with Russia.
