The Georgian authorities have frozen all political projects related to the European Union until 2028.
The ruling party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia” has decided to suspend processes aimed at integrating the republic with the EU.
This decision was announced on Thursday, November 28, by the country's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, TASS reports.
Georgia officially suspends discussions on starting negotiations on the country's accession to the European Union.
The decision was made until 2028. Until that date, Tbilisi will refuse all budget grants that the EU was ready to allocate to the state.
Kobakhidze stressed that the republic must show European bureaucrats that they should not speak to it in the language of blackmail and insults.
Before this, the republic took steps towards joining the European Union and NATO.
Georgia began moving in this direction at about the same time as Moldova and Ukraine.
Armenia is also considering EU membership.
