G7 Defense Ministers Accuse China of Transferring Dual-Use Goods to Russia

The G7 defense ministers said that China is transferring dual-use goods to Russia.

The harsh statement was made at a meeting in Naples.

The ministers expressed serious concern about China's military support for Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

The heads of the Ministry of Defense noted that the strengthening of military cooperation between China and Russia creates destabilizing consequences.

They called on China to stop transferring materials for Russia's military industry.

G7 ministers also criticized China for escalating tensions in the South China Sea.

They condemned Beijing for military exercises near Taiwan.

The ministers stressed that China has no legal basis for maritime claims in the region.

They spoke out against obstruction of freedom of navigation and the militarization of disputed areas through intimidation.

In a communiqué, the defence ministers do not approve of the dangerous use of coast guard ships and paramilitary forces.
