Germany, France, Italy and Poland have reached a preliminary agreement on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington.

These four NATO countries have agreed to develop cruise missiles with a range of more than 1,000 km.

The German publication FAZ notes that such weapons are capable of hitting targets in Russia from German territory.

According to media reports, Berlin, Paris, Rome and Warsaw have prepared a corresponding agreement within the framework of the NATO summit, which is taking place in the United States.

But it is indicated that the countries still have a "raw" version of the document with general wording. It still needs to be finalized and officially approved.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed that Germany intends to develop its own high-precision weapons systems.

The head of the German cabinet stressed that the corresponding position is reflected in the security strategy of the German government, as well as in future agreements with Great Britain and France.
