Law enforcement officials reported that the former mayor of Kizilyurt and former head of the Ministry of Sports of Dagestan, Magomed Magomedov, is suspected of murder.
It is reported that Magomedov may also be involved in terrorist attacks and embezzlement.
The police explained: “A criminal case has been opened against the official under multiple articles,” as reported by TASS .
Thus, in particular, Magomedov is accused of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs “a” and “g” of Part 2 of Article 105 and Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
The articles provide for criminal liability for an attempt on someone else's life and for the illegal acquisition and possession of weapons.
A high-profile case
In addition, Magomedov is suspected of committing offenses under Part 2 of Article 205.1 and Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
We are talking about possible assistance to terrorists by officials, as well as the appropriation of a large sum of money and its subsequent embezzlement.
Magomedov and other suspects were detained by special forces in 2023.
The police conducted a search of the suspects, after which the perpetrators were taken to Moscow for further investigation.
